Tomorrow, the Photonex Roadshow returns to Scotland

The Photonex Roadshow returns to Glasgow tomorrow, bringing together the UK’s top photonics technology suppliers, leading researchers and invited speakers for a very special one-day event on June 14th at the University of Strathclyde.

Elliot Scientific will be among the dozens of companies dedicated to optics, biophotonics and imaging technology – allowing you to view the latest photonics solutions, optical components, instruments and systems, as well as a conference and tutorials.

New modular test system for networks from EXFO

EXFO has released their next-generation modular test system in the form of the LTB-8 Rackmount Platform (with video), a versatile solution that addresses the many testing requirements found within today’s data networks.

The LTB-8’s small format, ultra-powerful processor and highly intuitive interface gives the lab user an optimised instrument to run dedicated test applications simply and efficiently for technologies such as Ethernet, OTN, Fibre Channel, SONET/SDH and more.

Photonics West opens next week – Elliot Scientific in Booth 4554

16022016241San Francisco’s Moscone Center will once again be the venue for the annual Photonics West group of exhibitions and conferences organised by SPIE – the international society for optics and photonics.

Elliot Scientific will be exhibiting in Booth 4554, demonstrating our renowned range of XYZ flexure stages and precision micro- and nano-positioning slides, our fully automated DAli 3 alignment system, and our optical trapping laser tweezer add-ons and upgrades for professional microscopes.

EXFO’s new LTK-1 delivers a high-performance benchtop optical power meter solution to all

EXFO LTB-1EXFO’s new LTK-1 Benchtop Optical Power Meter offers:

Combining the FTB-1750 power meter module with the new LTB-1 platform, the LTK-1 delivers a high-performance benchtop power meter solution to the lab engineer, or the production manager looking for a small, cost-effective easily automated solution.

EXFO designed the LTK-1 for performance, giving it an 85 dB range, fast stabilisation times, and the ability to simultaneously measure high and low signals on up to four channels. This new power meter kit is the only one on the market to offer touchscreen display and optional industry-leading FIP-400B inspection probe.

The LTB-1 platform is Windows-based, and offers maximum efficiency and flexibility through its Ethernet remote control port and powerful processor. It comes with a web-based user interface and powerful remote control capabilities via built-in Ethernet port and IVI compliant instrument drivers.

June 8th will see the UK’s top photonics technology suppliers, leading researchers and invited speakers gathered together for the second time this year.

DAli 3 Automatic Alignment Systems available with MDE piezo-driven XYZ Positioners

Elliot Scientific is offering the DAli 3 Automatic Alignment Systems with a choice of MDE123 or MDE125 Elliot Gold™ Series piezo-actuated XYZ flexure stages.

Two systems are available. The E2323 comprises a model E2300 2-axes automated feedback piezo controller plus MDE123 Elliot Gold™ Series XYZ flexure stage fitted with piezo actuators providing 25 µm of piezo adjustment in each of the three axes, or the E2325 with 100 µm of piezo adjustment. Both systems also offer 2 mm of manual adjustment in each axis.

E2323_1200AThe Elliot Scientific DAli 3 is the latest version of our popular automated photonic device alignment system for the following applications:

  • Fibre-to-laser diode alignment
  • Fibre-to-waveguide alignment
  • Fibre-to-fibre coupling
  • Fibre array-to-device alignment
  • Compensation for epoxy drift during pigtailing
  • Compensation for drift during long-term characterisation
  • Simultaneous alignment of input & output fibres (or arrays) to waveguide device

A typical E2300 DAli 3 system now consists of our new 3-channel E1100 piezo controller, the USB-equipped DAli 3 interface, and a customer-supplied PC or laptop for driving the easy to use software. Although designed to complement the piezo-driven versions of the Elliot Gold™ Series range of flexure stages, such as the MDE123 and MDE125 described above, it is also suited to other piezo devices working on 0 to 150 volts.

San Francisco’s Moscone Center will once again be the venue for the annual Photonics West group of exhibitions and conferences organised by SPIE – the international society for optics and photonics.

Elliot Scientific will be exhibiting in the North Hall’s Booth 4555, giving visitors the chance to experience our world-renowned range of XYZ flexures, precision engineered compact slides and stages, and optical tweezers for laser trapping systems.

We will also be launching our new E2300 automated alignment system, the latest of our renowned DAli controllers for piezo-driven flexure stages.

Mad City Labs introduce new low profile 3-axis nanopositioner

Ideal for applications in optical trapping, microscopy, fluorescence imaging, single molecule spectroscopy and super resolution microscopy (SRM), the new Nano-LPMW from Mad City Labs is a unique 3-axis nanopositioning system designed to hold multiwell plates, slides, dishes and environmental chambers.

MCL-LPMWThe Nano-LPMW has a low profile and extra-large centre aperture with 200 micron range of motion in all three axes. The low height of the Nano- LPMW Series allows it to be easily integrated into existing inverted optical microscopes and is compatible with a large range of microscope stages.

Like the related Nano-LPS Series, the Nano-LPMW is ideal for demanding microscopy applications which require long range travel, high stability, and three axes of motion.

The Nano-LPMW is the only 3-axis nanopositioning system which can hold multiwell plates and incubators, and deliver precise and repeatable motion. A function made possible through closed loop control combined with PicoQ® position sensors.
